Jory's Santa Gig

Jory was asked to be Santa at this family party. Can I tell you what a nervous wreck he was?? We pulled up to the house and were sitting there for what seemed like forever and I told Jory, "The sooner we go in and do this, the sooner it'll be over." He kept telling me he just needed a few more minutes. We finally started walking to the house and Jory says, "My legs are going numb!" We are totally opposite in this department-I don't mind talking in public but Jory can't deal with it. Clearly, we can't relate to each other!

But it turned out well. The only people that noticed him was the kids and all the proud moms taking pics. It was a fun evening though.

Snowy Days and Mondays Always Get Me Down...

This was the snow storm we had yesterday. It snowed ALL day down here. My car parked by the road and mailbox isn't for fun either. I got STUCK!

Photobucket

My plan was the shovel the driveway myself, but I of course the idea of taking some pictures got the better of me. That's ADD for you. So here are some of the pictures I took last night when I got home from work.

Bennett Sibling Get Together.

All the Bennett Siblings (except Brend-who was working) came down for a get together since we won't be together for Christmas. It's a lot of fun hanging out with my family and never a dull moment. We really didn't do all that much except a gift exchange and listen to Mike tell stories (all night, mind you). Just being together is good enough for us I guess.

Photobucket
Geena's beautifully decorated tree. When they first put it up, Kobe and Bugs had tons of fun crawling underneath it. Must have been a fort to them.

Photobucket
If you're wondering what she's knawing on, it's a nose cap from the laughing gas at the Dentist. Yeah... I know, wierd. But they gave it to Kobe after his trip over there and it smells really good. She thinks it's something else though.

Photobucket
I made one of those fleece blankets for Bugs. She LOVES soft blankets. Soft anything actually.

Photobucket
Joel and I. He's my youngest brother-14 and he's a lot taller then me already.

Photobucket
I LOVE this. They were so SO excited to open presants!

Temple Square

Last Friday night, Jory and I went up to temple square to see the lights. I haven't been in sooo long! It was so beautiful and peaceful though. Well, not the hords of people and all, but I love the feeling of safety and peace you feel while you're on Temple Square. A beautiful and peaceful time, a time to reflect out Saviour's birth.

It's been so hard for so many people this Christmas season and we are no exception. The Christmas Spirit just doesn't seem to be anywhere this year. Going to see the lights did help. If you live in Utah and need something to help you feel the Christmas Spirit, for sure to Temple Square. That or do some service-that helps...

Tonight, Jory and I went to our ward Christmas party. Dinner was of course yummy. But they had us go in groups to different rooms where they set up a story scence thing that was about the birth of Christ. After each presentation, we sang a Christmas carol. The spirit of Christmas was amazing there tonight. It's funny how something so simple can make you feel something so powerful. It was a great night and I'm so glad we went.

Family Legacy Christmas Party

Oh what a fun night! For my work party, all dressed up and went up to Sandy to eat at Carvers. The food was great. Although, the dead black fly I found in my salad wasn't that cool at all. Even still... we managed to have many laughs about it. Afterwards the fun haters ;) left and the rest of us headed over to Club Allure to dance the night away. I haven't been dancing since my first semester in college in '99. WOW... we had so much fun.

Photobucket
Here's why I don't like giving my camera to many people to take a picture-the rule of thirds just goes right out the window. Jory esp will tell you this is one of my biggest pet peeves! I work with a bunch of amazing people and am so happy to work for Family Legacy!

We went to Tammy's suite after dinner to get ready for the club. I work with some pretty hot chics!

This is Sheila and her husband. She is so gorgeous! I hope I look as half as good as she does when I'm her age.

Girls Day!

We don't do girls day very often and the whole time we kept asking why we didn't do this more often. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my sisters. I miss them a lot. We met up at The Gateway and went to see the much anticipated "TWILIGHT!" When it comes to people making movies out of a book, we ALL know that the movie just can NOT compare to the book, so with that said... I don't know why so many chics were baggin on it. I thought over all it was a good movie though. Most of the characters were how I pictured them in my head. It was fun to see how it all came together. I for sure was anxious to come home and re read the books though.

Here we are waiting in line for some treats before entering the theatre. We were SO excited. However... Snuff (far left and front) doesn't look all that impressed. Clearly she hasn't read the books!

Photobucket

Anyways, after the movie, we went to The Skybox(bar-whatever it was called) for lunch. If you haven't eaten there, you should try it out. Yumminess... Oh, the beloved cheese fries (of course as I write about all this food, I am thinking of my dear friend Ashley who shares my passion for food! ;)) People, TRY THE CHEESE FRIES!

To finish the rest of the day, we did some Christmas shopping around The Gateway. I LOVE coming here! Can't wait for the next sisters girls day! Love you girls much.

Please Help!

A friend of mine is going to Africa next month and sent me the following email about helping out some families in Africa. It's amazing to me that only $21 US dollars would help feed a family of 5 for ONE MONTH! That wouldn't last a week at our house. We likes to EAT! Anyways, I'm posting this to try and help get the word out in hopes that we can get a ton of people to help donate money and supplies for her and her husband to take over next month. If any of you readers (even if we don't know each other and you're just stalking me) would like to help out in anyway, please leave a comment, email me or call me ASAP! What a perfect time of year to help others in need. I always find that I feel of the Christmas Spirit when I help those less fortunate then I.

Stephen and I are traveling to Zimbabwe Africa over Christmas and after talking with our friends in Harare have found that LDS members and many others are in desperate need of everyday supplies and food. We will be able to distribute many supplies and also be able to buy Mini Meal (similar to corn meal) to take to families.

$21.00US will feed a family of 5 for 1 month by purchasing 3- five pound bags of Mini Meal.

Along with Mini meal we will purchase or provide them with seed packets, salt, oil & 2 bars of soap to wash their clothes and themselves.

Other items that were mentioned:

Cloth Diapers & Pins

Ivory Soap for babies

Seeds (tomato, onion, squash, peppers, corn, etc)

Pencils with sharpeners

Pens

Soap for adults

Anti-Bacterial Soap

Toothbrushes and paste

Tylenol, Advil or other

Neosporin or other antiseptic cream

Band-Aids

Bug Repellent

$ for food

We appreciate your consideration. Anything is helpful because everything is needed.

If you are interested in helping please email or call. We’re asking that all items be ready or delivered by Saturday, December 20th.

We don't get to see her near as much as we'd like either. Dayle said this is what Cas really wanted to be for Halloween. Look at that little smile-LOVE IT!
