Last Night...

I did a last minute photo shoot for this girl...

She needed some head shots for her Real Estate company. Clearly, this isn't your typical head shot for something like that but I wanted to try this pose out. Anyways, Jory went fishing so I had to bring my little Assistant with me again. He was so cute and distracting I couldn't help but stop to take some pics of him!

He fell down (clearly) on this one, but it was so CUTE! Look at that floppy hair!

Man is he a cutie! He was just walking all around us yammering away like he owned the place!

Time Out...

I think my life is getting a little out of control here, so I'm taking a moment out of the craziness to show off the cutest boy in the whole world. Seriously... look how stinkin cute my boy is in this hat!! I just can't get enough.

And yes, I do realize he has a very messy face. However, in his defense, he discovered my Oreo on my plate today. He took it upon himself to chow down on it. Oh how he loved that Oreo!

So Grateful...

That my parents did NOT raise me to have THIS mentality...

HA HA HA HA!!! It's pretty funny though eh? And sad at the same time.

Journaling

Everyday when I access my week, I think that next week will be more relaxing and less crazy then this week will be. Why do I keep doing that to myself? I think every week is just going to be crazy from here on out for the rest of my life. Dang it...

Tonight I went out with some girlfriends to celebrate my bday. It was a lot of fun. We went to Kneaders (hello-FREE dessert on your bday!) and then went shopping. And then again out for more dessert! Why don't I do stuff like that more often?? Last week Melissa told me to call up my closest girl friends and tell them we were going out. Best idea EVER! I honestly believe that I have some of the most amazing friends. These girls always have my back and are so loyal and kind.  I truly believe that guys need a boys night and girls need a ladies nights. Sometimes it helps me realize how much I LOVE my little boy. How can you learn to miss someone if you are never gone? Missing someone is a good emotion because your love grows and you learn to appreciate them more. I love the feeling of when I have been gone for a while and think, "Yeah, I get to go home and see my baby-I just miss him." When I arrive home and he sees that it is me, the SWEETEST smile spreads on his cute little face and he comes walking as fast as those tiny little feet will allow. It is the best feeling in the world and melts my heart as he runs into my arms. I know that boy loves and needs ME. What better feeling is there then that?

On the way home, Jeanie and I were talking about church stuff and answers that come so strongly and such. I remembered a quote that our Young Women's President quietly passed to me during Sunday School the other day. It was so perfect for me because a lot of times I don't have confidence in the answers I receive. This quote was so perfect for me that I had to write it down. Tonight as we were talking, I was trying to tell Jeanie about the quote, but couldn't exactly remember it, so Jeanie-here it is!!! =D

"What do you do when you have prepared carefully, have prayed fervently, waited a reasonable time for a response and still do not feel an answer? You may want to express thanks when that occurs, for it is an evidence of His trust. When you are living worthily and your choice is consistent with the Savior's teachings and you need to act, proceed with with trust. As you are sensitive to the promptings of the spirit, one of two things will certainly occur at the appropriate time: either the stupor of thought will come, indicating an improper choice, or the peace or the burning in the bosom will be felt comforting you that your choice was correct. When you are living righteously and are acting with trust, God will not let you proceed too far without a warning impression if you have made the wrong decision."

I have no idea who said this, but I LOVE it. I think Lorri was inspired to give this to me. It's just what I need to hear. I think sometimes when the Lord has a plan for us, things just fall into place in our lives. Or they fall our of our lives. Sometimes we are expected to study, search and ponder over the answer. This can be so hard as our desires may not be what is best for us or according to His plan. In Sunday School we talked about how we have righteous desires that are not happening in our lives and when we pray and it just doesn't happen, how hard that can be. Someone said this is the refiners period. Sometimes the answers to our prayers happen right away and that is a testimony builder. Other times, we have to WAIT. The one lesson I learned with the miracle of Lincoln is that the Lord has a closer eye on us then we realize. He has a time and a reason for everything. But Lincoln was meant to come when he did. Too many things just fell right into place along the way for me to believe other wise. Looking back, I DO BELIEVE all those trials were part of His plan. It all works out in the end and Lincoln is SOOO very much worth the wait!

Anyways, that's my ramblings for tonight. It's been a long day. I am exhausted and have a darling baby to go snuggle and kiss!

Playing Outside

This little man can NOT get enough of playing outside. We don't get to go out much because it is still a little too cold and have you seen the snow storms lately? Yuck! Anyways, there are times (several, every single day) that he will point to the door and whine cuz he wants to go outside SO BAD! I really think he could spend all day out there. He LOVES it! You can't bother him because he has lots to do and it quite the busy little boy. The next several post will probably be of him playing out side.

Playing in the planted dirt outside. Just can't get enough of it. ha ha ha...

Happy Birthday Lincoln!

I seriously can't get over how fast Lincoln's first year went by. He has grown into his own little person and truly is the JOY in our lives.

We did some studio shots today and when the weather warms up a bit (or a lot) I will do his formal ones. I was recently hired by Baby Bella Photography and will be working the hospitals a few days a week taking pics of newborns. HELLO?? How fun does that sound? Anyways, there are a lot of forms that need to be printed, filled out, signed, scanned in and emailed back (as they are located in Cali). This is just paper work. I've done immunizations, bought t-shirts, and will have to do a drug test and more orientations. Good crap... So I need to get that all done TODAY!

WAY too CUTE!

I have needed a new lens BAD for quite some time. I figured when wedding season came along I'd get one. Jory told me to try out one of our buddies lens to see how it worked out on my camera and what not. So last night me and Linkers went over to our friends house to try out his lens. What a lucky man he is! However, I am a lucky woman now cuz Jory gave me the green light to order the new lens! Thank You!! Anyways, here are some shots I took with his lens. My baby is the light of my life, the apple of my eye (that was for you Melissa-ROFL!!!) and he is just so beautiful to me. Today is his last day before he is one years old. I'm a little (actually, hold the little) sad about it all. Oh well...

Isn't he so dang cute?

Me and one of my BFF's are chatting right now about how Lincoln is going to be a year tomorrow. It's crazy to think that one year ago EXACTLY at this time, I was walking into the hospital and being tested to see if my water was breaking-which of course it was. It's funny how fresh the memories still are. Then again, it WAS a life changing event.

Hey Everyone...

Look who's in a big boy car seat now!!!

I couldn't resist the cute chubby chin!! And yes, he threw up in his car seat but now it's officially broken in right?

Saturday I had a few photo shoots up in SLC. We finally put the big boy car seat in. Lincoln is still adjusting to this. On our way home, he was pooped! He looks so friggin cute in that seat when he's sleeping.

Exciting New!

Today as I was leaving SLC from a photo shoot, my Dad called me while he was watching conference. He told me they had just called someone I knew to the Quorum of the Seventy. When he told me this, I KNEW EXACTLY who it was, my Uncle Rand. Although I am not surprised, I was shocked at the same time! WOW, how exciting! I've always know he was a good man and was so very generous to my family and I since we moved to Utah. He will do well in this calling, just like he did as the mission President in Russia. Go Unlce Rand-so very proud of you!

I wasn't able to watch conference this afternoon, so I am listening to the talks now, I found this in one of the conference stories online...

Elder Randall K. Bennett, 55, is a former president of the Russia Samara Mission and has had a career in dentistry and orthodontics. He and his wife, Shelley Dianne Watchman Bennett, are the parents of four children and reside in North Salt Lake.

Love that family! =D
