Missouri-Lincoln's Place

Anyone who knows us really well knows that I had loved the name Lincoln for quite some time. I mean years before he was born. Laura and I have a lot of the same taste (I can't tell you how many times we come to church wearing the same clothing the other had purchased previously.) Anyways, Peter and Laura had a little boy named Lincoln 3 years ago that passed away shortly after he was born. It was completely devastating (for me too). After we found out we were having a boy, I wanted to name him Lincoln that much more in honour of my dear friend.

Laura took us to "Lincoln's Place." It is a quiet, peaceful and beautiful temporary resting place for their little boy and the girls big brother. I'm not going to lie, I got pretty emotional inside while we were there. It was a quiet reminder that anything like this could happen to me or anyone else that I love. There was another baby resting close to Lincoln's spot who was 5 months old. I about burst into tears as this is my Linc's age. I couldn't imagine something like this and the heartbreak I would feel. Being a mother has changed me in so many ways.

It really was such an honor to show my chubbers "Lincoln's Place" When he is much older and can understand more, I hope to take him back.

Missouri-Saucer Thingy

While we were in Missouri, Laura let Lincoln play in their saucer thing. I honestly don't even know what they're called, but they look fun. I told Laura a lot that Lincoln gets bored easy and after 5 minutes of anything, he's onto the next thing. Laura thought this would keep him busy for a while. He played with each item for like 20 secs and was onto the next toy. It was funny to see Laura's reaction. Anyways, Lincs was quite cute and we had to stop for some pics.

A New Friend

We live in a ward that is extremely high turn over. Sometimes you go to church, look around and wonder if you're in the right ward. Being in Young Women's, you don't get to meet many other ladies so to speak. We just got a few new ladies called into Young Women's and both are named Katie. Katie and her husband Brock are amazing. I truly adore Katie. She is so kind and humble. They had a baby a few months ago and boy is he DARLING! I took some pics of him and their family last week and I'm so glad that I was able to do that so I could get to know them a little better. As I said, such a GREAT little family!

Missouri-Shopping!

Laura and I love to shop. We always have. Both of us are a sucker for a great deal and know how to find them. We went to a few outlet malls while I was out there. I should have taken more pics, but at least we got tons of the kidlets. Their outlet mall in Kansas blows Park City away. I LOVED it there!

HOLY CRAP!! These two are sooo cute!! And I would LOVE it if Lincs married Brielle when he growns up and comes home from a mission!

Funny thing-both these two look like their Dad!

They have Cold Stone in Missouri?? Heck yeah we made a stop! Of course that is NOT ice cream on my baby's mouth. What type of mother do you think I am??

Photobucket

Of course we had to take a pic of this pond for Jor.

Needed This...

The one good thing about blog stalking is that sometimes you run across something you needed to hear...

Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don’t come until heaven. But for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come. It will be all right in the end. Trust God and believe in good things to come." --Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

Missouri-At the Pool

In August, Lincs and I flew out to Missouri to visit one of my dear friends Laura. We both had miracle babies 10 weeks apart this year. It was the most exciting thing I could have hoped for both of us.

We had a lot of fun. At times it was just nice to be able to put the kids to bed and just talk and watch chic flicks (sorry Peter! You're a great sport). We went to the pool one of the days we were there and it was so refreshing. I had forgotten how hot Missouri is with the humidity. The pool felt great. Lincs seemed to like it too. Then again, he seems to just enjoy the water period! Laura's baby however, didn't seem to like it as much. It may have just been too cold though. Her 2 year old has NO FEAR though. There were a few times we thought she was just going to dive in! What a character!! =D

Look how cute our two babies are!

Lincoln loved this floaty thing. He would splash his little hands in the water-so cute.

Guess he wasn't quite ready to get out yet!

I super love pics like this! He has such cute piggies.

Trying to help mom eat lunch. That little fat face cracks me right up!

When we left, Lincoln was asleep in less then a minute after I put him in his seat. He just wore himself out having too much fun. Look how CUTE he is!!

Night Shooting

Back in July, I was re-experimenting with night shooting. I did a lot of that this last summer and LOVED it. Pregnancy and Motherhood has taken 1st place though. I want to get back into the things I really love and night shooting is one of them. I've done quite a bit of it this summer, so I'll have more posts on this as well.

The two following images are in my back yard at midnight. If it looks like there are ghostly images in the back yard, it is because it is Jory. Like I said, we were experimenting.

Jory is always begging me to take his picture and so I did.
