Oh yeah.... Christmas!

Ok, so I'm a little behind on things. Being prego, you have other things on your mind and you just forget a lot! Christmas was a blur for us. Jory was gone half of the month working in OK and didn't get home until the 22nd. Talk about cutting it close eh? We hung out at our house most of Christmas, visited my brother and his amazing wife while watching their two CUTE kids open presents. Seriously, Christmas is not Christmas without kids! It makes it more special for sure! After they opened presents, we drove to my parents house in Ogden and hung out there for a while, then went to Idaho to see Jor's family. Yeah... all in one day. I seriously think I slept the whole next day.

But of course, it was so much fun as always to be around our families during the Holidays. Here's a bunch of shots from the festivities....

Here was our little tree-so cute...

Project Baby's Room

We FINALLY have started on our baby's room. SOOOO EXCITING! Jory and his buddy Cort (PS-THANK YOU CORT!!!!) moved the huge fish tank out along with all the other big stuff last night. My sister and I scrubbed the walls late last night. It's so weird, but I CRAVE the smell of Pine Sol. I don't understand it but it boosts my spirits right up. ???? Today Jor and I went and got some paint. I wanted to take some pics of the "Before" and will post some "Afters" too. This room use to be Jory's beloved Trout room where he had his 8 or 9 ft fish tank he made and where he made fly rods and tied flies. He's pretty sad about this, but it's all for the cause!

We had been up in Idaho all weekend for a job Jor was doing and our sweet new niece's baby blessing. While we were gone, we received a phone call that the crib my parents so generously bought us had arrived. I can't even tell you how excited I was to go pick it up! Jory wanted to put it together right away, but since we still have a ton to do in our baby's room, we figured we should wait. I am getting soooo anxious to get our little boys room together!

While we were in Idaho, my sister in law and I scrapbooked together while the boys watched the Superbowl. I made 6 pages up there for his book and two frames. LOVE making things for my little boy!! Life is good my friends... life is good! =)

Dear Baby...

You are still growing strong in my rapidly growing belly. I still have 9 weeks before I get to hold you in my arms, love you and call you mine. We have waited SO VERY long for you and I'm dying to meet you. It has been a hard trial for us both wondering why it's taken so long for you to come to us and my arms already ache to hold you. Everyone that loves your Dad and I are so very excited for your arrival and know that you are going to be just perfect.

We wonder everyday what you are going to look like and who you will become. As I write this, you are moving around inside. I LOVE feeling you move. In fact, it makes me giggle at times. You are so active and to me it is such a blessing because it means you are alive.

Although I am scared to raise you in today's world, there are so many things I can't wait to teach you. I'm almost certain that your Dad will try to have you out fishing and camping the first weekend out from the hospital-these are his two passions in life. One of the things I will teach you is the Gospel. It has been the ONE thing that has brought the most happiness and peace in my life. I can't wait to read, sing and cuddle with you. I hope you'll forgive me for all the photo shoots I'm going to make you endure, but I just won't be able to get enough of your cuteness. I love photos, what more can I say?

We have chosen the name Lincoln Base Ward to be your name. I have always loved the name Lincoln. I have this very dear friend that waited so long to have a baby too. He finally came and they named him Lincoln. He passed away a few days after he was born and I cried and cried for days for my dear friend and her husband. I wanted to name my son Lincoln even more after that. I sometimes wonder if you knew him in Heaven. The name Base comes from not only your Dad's middle name, but also Grampa Ward's name. You'll love him. He is SOOOOOO excited for you. He already has you a horse-not joking... Be prepared because he will smother you with loves and kisses.

Today I went to see a friend of mine who took some beautiful portraits of you and me together. Although I'm not loving all the weight I'm putting on, it's important to me to document all our time together. One thing I have learned from photography is that it is SO PRICELESS!! You'll find this even more true when someone you loves passes away. Here is one of the portraits Scott Hancock took of us today.

I hope you can feel the love and sweet tender feelings I already have for you by the expression captured on my face. I have so many more things I want to tell you, but it's time for bed (For BOTH of us!!).

I love you so much and can't wait to finally hold you in my arms!
Luv,
Mum

Ramblings...

I haven't really had a lot of things to share lately. In December I was laid off from Family Legacy Dental (yeah, at 6 month prego!) and so I've just been a stay at home person since. Trying to find a job in this economy is hard enough, but being THIS pregnancy... come on! Not that I'm complaining being at home because I LOVE it! I feel so safe and my stress levels have gone down so much!

I'm about 30 weeks along and due April 3, 2010. The pregnancy is going well and my belly is quite large. Yesterday I went to see Dr.Baxter and he was quite pleased to see how healthy things are going. My blood pressure is really low, my large belly is measuring right where it should be and my little man's heart rate is at 159. Dr.Baxter asked if I felt him moving a lot in there. I told him that I did quite a bit. He was happy with that response and told me that an active baby is a healthy baby. Can't be more grateful at that! =)

The only part of being pregnant that I've enjoyed is feeling him move. It's the craziest feeling to know that a little person Jory and I have created together is growing inside me. He LOVES to move! Either that or he doesn't have enough space. Jory finally got to feel him move not too long ago. Usually he just plays dead whenever Jor comes around. We're both really excited to meet him and see what he looks like. 10 weeks to go! (please don't ask how the nursery is coming along because it isn't! Jory is out of state most these days working but we'll get around to it soon-I hope!)

While I've been at home, I've been TRYING to dejunk and organize. Can I just tell you how bad I suck at it??? It's too overwhelming for me! I don't know where to start or what to do. Any advise, tips or help is welcome! This morning I was going through some OLD pics and found some of when one of my dearest friends came to visit. Hilary and Alex came like 2.5 years ago to SLC and as I was looking at these pics, my heart ached that she is so far away. Most of my very closest girlfriends all live in different states. HATE THAT!! But anyways, I wanted to post some of these because I don't think I ever have and they are worth posting to me because of how much I cherish her and our friendship!

The Wards

I took this pic of Jory and his siblings over the summer. I never posted this before because of being so busy and prego sick. However, I LOVE this shot of them. We gave a sepia version to his parents for Christmas and it is gorgeous!

The Spirit of Christmas Past...

What do you do when you get the winter blues this close to Christmas and you need a major good laugh?? Easy... you go through pictures of Christmases' from the past! Well, it worked for me anyways!

My older brother Mike and I were CLEARLY very little. I'm sure I wasn't even two years old yet in these pics.

I have no clue how old we were here either, but we went to aunt Deanna and uncle Les's house for Christmas that year. Mike's face is what cracks me right up in this pic! Reminds me of Homer Simpson for some reason! So much fun...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my little Snuffy!! How BEAUTIFUL is she??? This had to have been Christmas of '89. Wow... 20 years ago!
