Happy Halloween!

I am working for a great dental office and the team LOVES to have fun. We all dressed up and and had a lunch together. I think it was nice for our patients to see us in costumes. Esp. considering a lot of our patients are children. I haven't dressed up in YEARS, but still-it was a lot of fun. Here are a few of the pics taken that day.

Lessons learned.

You know how in today's digital world, a lot of people are buying these nicer cameras and saying, "oh we can just go in our nice backyard, set up the camera on timer and take our our family pictures," or my personal favorite, "I have a friend/family member that has a nice camera they can just shoot our pics for us-that way it'll be free anyways." I'm here to tell you doing that is LAME! For the love of all that is holy and sacred, do it right and just get a photographer! Here's the reason I say this...

This week Jory and I "tried" to take our family pics. Jory insists on doing them ourselves with a tripod and self timer (as apparently this is our new family tradition). So we went up the canyons and failed miserably. There was nothing all that looked pretty-unless you like the dead creepy tree/branch look. I could see how Jory looked and he always looked good, but then I would have to run as the timer was going and try to position myself that looked somewhat decent. I looked like a complete retard. I was so frustrated and Jory was getting annoyed with me-but people, hello... I am a photographer so of course I'm going to be more particular! We took like maybe 15 shots before I was DONE and went home pouting like a baby. I'm still pretty butt hurt about it too. I have been sitting here aimlessly editing everyone family pics and ours are the WORST! This was my last attempt at this, never again. I will hire one of my photographers that I lust after.
Live and learn my friends! ;) Ok, I'm done venting...

Trunk or Treat

We took Kobe to our ward's Truck or Treat Friday night and it was so much fun. Kobe always has such fun costumes. Of course he took home a ton of candy.

This years costume: Storm Trooper. (Wait, did I say that right?)

Racing to the Promised land. I'm not being cheesy here, that's really what the name of the game was called.

Photobucket
I don't remember what this game was called, but the kids got to throw velcro balls on this guy.

Photobucket
Kobe actually hit the guy right on!

Photobucket
The 3 legged race Kobe ran. Love his face on this one too.

This is one of my friends Ashley and her way cute boys. She is one of the funniest girls I know. Not to mention GORGEOUS!

My Siblings

Every time I clicked on our blog, I'd see that scary stand off thing as my first post and it was starting to get on my nerves, so I figured I needed to find something good to blog about. Nothing really exciting is going on quite yet, so that's why I'm putting a pic of my family up. Well, the siblings anyways. This pic was taken 3 years ago by Scott Hancock Photography. We have added Camilla's husband and little Bugs since then. Oh... and Kobs looks a lot different too.

Anyways, I totally love them. They're amazing.

Stand Off

So this is what happened around the corner of my house last week. Yeap, no joke... I was quite mortified. Now you all can understand why I say I live in the ghetto! Don't get me wrong, we love our house and are grateful to have what we have (despite the location) but really-do you think I feel all that safe here? Not so much. I didn't take the photos below (PLEASE... there would have been more action involved! Love my zoom lens!) The other thing is, when I was driving home from work Jory called and told me what was going on so being me, I had to drive up to the scene to check things out. Of course I didn't have my camera with me! But when I got there, the whole street was FULL of cop cars. Every news crew was there as well. It was a pretty intense. I should have gone home to get the camera since I was so close, but who knows if I would have got robbed too! ;) Anyways, you can read the report below the photos. Enjoy... HA!

5 people in custody following standoff in Orem

A four-hour standoff in Orem, that started with a home invasion, ended peacefully.

It all started early this morning with a home invasion robbery at 1055 E. 800 North. Police say three suspects wearing masks and hoodies entered the home through an unlocked door.

Five people in the home were assaulted with a baseball bat as they lay in their beds.

Orem police Lt. Doug Edwards said, "They beat them with the bat, forced them to crawl in to the front room. They were being terrorized and threatened with a handgun."

The suspects took electronic equipment from the home and demanded drugs and money.

The suspects locked the victims in the bathroom, took their cell phones and told the victims they would kill them if they called the police. Then the suspects left the house.

Police officers spotted the suspects' car. The driver sped off when he noticed an officer pulling up behind him. The suspects drove into a trailer park, but got a flat tire. They abandoned the car and took off on foot.

Police recovered all the stolen property in the car. They also found the bloody bat and handgun.

Using information inside the car, they tracked the suspects to a home near 675 North and 1130 West.

After four hours, a SWAT team was about to go in when the suspects finally surrendered. They were taken to the police station to be questioned.

Police have not released any information on who the suspects are. Police don't believe this is a random act, although the suspects may have gotten the wrong home.

Can't Help Myself

I can't help it, I just can't seem to get enough of these two. I don't see them as often as I should or would like to either. Sad thing is, they live about 3 mins away. But I love them-with all my heart. I'd do pretty much anything for them. I can't believe how fast they are growing either! I still remember very clearly the night my mom called to tell me Kobe was born. How depressed I was that I was so far away! Buggies is already one. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN? I mean really... where did that year go? She has her own little personality that is pretty dang feisty. She's so lovable though. Gosh... I miss you two stinkers!!

Photobucket
The sweetest little chatter box I've ever met!

Photobucket
He's always been such a good kid. I simply adore him!

Photobucket
One of the big differences between him and his baby sister... he is sooo good for me when I put a camera in his face! Bugs, not so much...

Photobucket
They are so lucky to have her as their mom. She's amazing!

Photobucket
I don't really know what's in her hands and I don't know that I want to know. But I will tell you this, she isn't afraid of anything in the dirt. She loves it.

Photobucket
Don't know why, but I LOVE this pic of her! Love her.

Photobucket
What a cute little face!

I love you two so much-never forget that! Oh and believe me... there will be plenty more to come! =)

It was a texture assignment in my Photo Shop class. I love how it turned out and wanted to post it. I printed it on metallic paper for my final-turned out awesome.

On a Side Note

Growing up, my mom always use to tell me, "If you don't have anything positive to say, then say nothing at all." So... this is my all time favorite Ice Cream-thanks to my sister Snuff. That is my positivity for the moment thanks.
